It’s Game Time (itsgametime.app) is made by Avi Agentics in Canada. We built it for families, so we collect as little as we can. You don’t need an account to play the free games. This page explains, in plain words, what happens to your information.
What we use, and why
- Your account (optional). If you sign in, we keep your email address (or your mobile number, if you sign in with a texted code), the name you choose, your password (only as a scrambled “hash” we can’t read back), the packs you’ve bought, and your stars and badges, so they work on every device you sign in on. Sign-in codes are emailed to you through our email provider (Brevo) and expire after 15 minutes. A small sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 90 days; signing out removes it.
- Your profile (signed-in players). Your profile photo, tagline, city and favourite games (all optional), plus the games you play while signed in: which game, the date, whether you won, your stars, how many players were in the room and roughly how long you played. Other signed-in players you’ve played with see your name and profile photo in their Friends list; nobody else does.
- Player names and emoji. The name you type when you join shows on the TV so the game knows whose turn it is. It’s kept in memory only while the game room is open and isn’t saved to a database.
- Camera. In camera games, your phone works out where your hand is. A small, low-quality live picture of you goes to the TV screen in your room so everyone can see you play. It passes straight through our server and is never recorded or saved.
- Photo Booth. Your photo strip is kept in our server’s memory for 2 hours so everyone in the room can save it. It is never written to disk. It has a long random link nobody can guess, and it’s deleted automatically.
- Microphone. When you say an answer out loud, a few seconds of audio go to a speech-to-text service that turns them into words. We keep the words for the game and throw the audio away. We don’t save recordings.
- Names said out loud. Our hosts can say players’ names. The name (only the name) goes to a text-to-speech service to make that line, and the audio is reused for the same name.
- Event Host. If you plan a party, the plan you type (party details and guest first names) is saved on our server so you can open it on the TV. Only someone with your private link can open it. When you chat with the host, what you say is sent to an AI service so she can answer.
- Feedback. If you rate a game, we save your stars, your comment, the name you played under, the number of players and the kind of phone (iPhone, Android or other) so we can make the games better.
- Stars, badges and unlocked packs are saved in your own browser (local storage). If you’re signed in, a copy is also kept with your account so it follows you to other devices.
Payments
Passes are paid through Stripe. The Monthly Pass renews automatically until you cancel it on your account page; we keep its plan and renewal date with your account. You type your card details on Stripe’s secure page; we never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us the payment went through and the email on the receipt. Your statement shows KITADESIGNS.SHOP, our parent studio’s payment account. Stripe’s own privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Services that help run the games
We use a few trusted services. They only get what they need for their part:
- Cloudflare: delivers the website securely.
- Stripe: payments.
- Brevo: sends sign-in code emails.
- VoIP.ms: sends sign-in code texts (only if you choose “Text me a code”).
- Speech and voice services (including OpenAI): speech-to-text for spoken answers and the hosts’ voices.
- OpenRouter: the AI that lets the Event Host chat back.
- YouTube: Karaoke Night plays karaoke videos from YouTube, under YouTube’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs: fonts and the hand-tracking tools your browser downloads.
Some of these services are outside Canada, so information they handle may be processed in other countries, such as the United States.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your information.
- We don’t show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We don’t record video or keep voice recordings.
Children
It’s Game Time is made for families to play together, with a grown-up running the game. We don’t ask children for personal information. A first name or nickname is plenty to play. Purchases need a grown-up.
Your choices
You can say no to the camera or microphone. Every game also works by tapping. You can use a nickname. You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it (your account, a saved party plan or a feedback comment), by emailing [email protected]. We follow Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA).
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
